Mythe Barn was a new venue for us and little further afield than we usually travel- but we can see why Sarah and Hans fell in love with this wedding venue for their winter wedding adventure!
We made a couple of trips out to Mythe Barn leading up to the big day. It’s always great for us to meet the staff, have a look around the venue and find the most perfect places for wedding photographs- and we did! We instantly fell in love with the rustic charm of Mythe Barn and the warm and friendly atmosphere- not to mention the AMAZING honeymoon suite!
The day came as Sarah arrived and relaxed whilst she was pampered having her hair and make-up taken care of. We snuck away into the honeymoon suite to photograph Sarah’s dress, shoes and little details. After a little persuasion Hans was suited and booted ready for the day ahead. As guests arrived they were greeted with a string quartet and welcomed into the ceremony room. It was the last Sunday before Christmas and guests had travelled far and wide to be here, including Hans’ family who live in Switzerland.
During the ceremony the readings were read in two languages for Sarah’s family in English and Hans’ family in German; what a lovely idea.
Not only was this the Sunday before Christmas, but also the shortest day of the year! With this in mind, we made full use of the sunshine during the afternoon as we popped in and out with the families for some relaxed group wedding photography, before the night drew in!
After an amazing wedding breakfast, it was speech time – we couldn’t work out who was most nervous out of the three :-).
The BEST thing about the shortest day of the year is that we didn’t have to wait long for some night time photographs at Mythe Barn! We LOVE night time photography, it’s so romantic and especially with the Christmassy-wintery theme! A perfect end to the perfect day
