The Falcon Hotel – Uppingham
The Falcon Hotel, in Uppingham, is a beautiful, historic building that has stood on the Market place since the 17th Century. Once owned by the Earl of Gainsborough – who extended the hotel upwards by adding an additional storey in the late 1800’s. Originally named The Falcon Posting and Commercial Inn, it had room for stables at the rear of the premises. On a popular coaching route from Stamford to Leicester, The Falcon was always busy.
This beautiful hotel is now a grade two listed building and is constructed of natural stone and locally sourced Collyweston slate for the roof making it a fantastic and picturesque wedding venue. It boasts a superb traditional terraced restaurant, a large lounge and cosy bar area not to mention 25 individually styled and designed bedrooms.
Uppingham and the Falcon Hotel are located just four miles from Rutland Water and the very popular Normanton Church – the idyllic venue for your wedding ceremony. Close to the A47, linking Peterborough to Leicester, the Falcon hotel is perfectly located for easy access.
