The Bell at Stilton
This Beautiful wedding venue dates back to 1500! Originally on the route of the Great North Road and now bypassed by the A1 motorway, Stilton and The Bell Inn are easily located for fantastic access.
Restored in 1990, interestingly almost identical to work carried out in 1736, the Bell boasts a fantastic courtyard and lawn area – both fantastic for wedding photography.
Even Dick Turpin is said to have hidden here for nine weeks before escaping the law by jumping from a window and galloping off on Black Bess!
Now, The Bell Inn boasts three rooms licenced for a wedding ceremony, from a smaller wedding of just 10 guests, to a large gathering of 130! All three of these rooms can be transformed into the idyllic wedding reception too.
The Marlborough Suite is The Bell’s largest and most popular room. It was designed with weddings in mind complete with a built in dance floor and it can even be partitioned off for a smaller wedding reception giving a more intimate atmosphere.
Complete with its winding oak staircase, wedding photography options are endless! The larger lawn at the back of the hotel can be put to use for large group shots and with lots of space for a drinks reception too, all of your guests can stay close by. The more intimate courtyard, with its original stone walls and even a well can make this area perfect for smaller group shots and wedding photographs of just the two of you. The front of the Bell at Stilton continues to amaze, with its many original features and staircases – wedding photography is always new and exciting!
With 22 en-suite bedrooms built around the old courtyard, the Bell offers the perfect place to stay. Each room has been individually designed and furnished keeping in the style of the charming building.
