Rockingham Castle Wedding Photography
Built by William the Conqueror, Rockingham castle was a royal fortress for 450 years before it became the family home of the Watson family for the 450 years since. Rockingham Castle stands at the top of the hill with the church and village below in its shadow. It boasts views over five counties. Not many places can say that! With a view like that, wedding photography at Rockingham Castle is unique.
The great hall at Rockingham castle is licensed for civil ceremonies and can seat 100 of your family and friends. Opposite the great hall stands the panel room which proves a very useable space for wedding Photography at Rockingham Castle should it rain.
The lawn at the front of the castle is large. Ample space for a drinks reception, informal photographs and maybe even a few lawn games. The courtyard plays host to Walkers house, room for a marquee for larger wedding receptions and some great spots for wedding photography, perhaps for smaller groups. The tower of the castle is always a favourite of ours for wedding Photography at Rockingham Castle, allowing us the opportunity to capture a full group shot, no matter how large.
Behind the ‘Elephant’ Hedge lies an extensive rose garden, stunning for some shots of you two together with many, many opportunities for wedding Photography at Rockingham Castle, there will be lots to explore!
For a wedding breakfast, Walkers house can sit 90 guests, leaving room for a cake table too. With its centre stairs, Speeches can be heard throughout, using these as centre stage. Evening receptions are also held in Walkers house, on the lower floor. From inside, you can capture the sun setting over the horizon. Beautiful.
