Nottingham University is, during the week, a busy atmosphere of young enthusiasts learning, however at the weekends it plays home to a magnificent wedding venue.
As you arrive at The University of Nottingham you will wind in and out of 330 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland before arriving at The Trent Building. This is white limestone building with an unusual clock tower. At our first visit to The Trent Building we found out that Albert Einstein used the blackboards at his first trip to Nottingham! Wow- that’s pretty impressive.
Anyway, back to weddings… ☺
The great Hall on the wing of the building is also licensed for civil ceremonies- a perfect way to enjoy your whole day at The University with 80 or even 200 of your guests!. After your ceremony, you are lead out onto the terraces overlooking the impressive boating lake. This tranquil view is still used for boating, a great backdrop for your drinks reception and wedding photography. On a beautiful day you can walk right down to the lake, through the natural woodlands of the university.
We fell in love with the Senate Chamber; this is an Oak panelled traditional room, complete with those paintings with the moving eyes ☺ only joking, it’s a great, traditional room to host your wedding breakfast. The menus and meals are prepared and cooked under the guidance of award-winning chefs and the food really is AMAZING!
The grand hall is then transformed into the ultimate party space for you and your guest. Complete with a bar and stage you really can dance the night away!
Then why not put your heads down at the Orchard Hotel, this is on campus and only a 5 minute walk away. With an on-site gym, en-suite rooms and Restaurant- you could spend the whole weekend here!
