Stamford corn exchange is actually a theatre! So if you are looking for a quirky wedding venue then you may just have found it!
The 399 seat theatre was refurbished almost entirely by volunteers from its previous live as an auctioneers soon after its now owners, the corn exchange theatre company, took charge of the lease back in 2000. Now fully licensed for wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships, the upstairs auditorium can play host to your wedding ceremony – on the stage!
If theatre scenery is your thing, you can use any of the backdrops and scenes held at the corn exchange to dress the stage to your liking.
The downstairs theatre lounge is also licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies. This smaller room can offer a more intimate wedding scene – complete with Victorian arches.
When it comes to wedding photography at the corn exchange, Stamford, unfortunately it doesn’t have its own garden. However, if you are looking for an alternative from the quirky interior, Stamford high street is a stone’s throw away – ideal for that rustic charm to add into your wedding photographs. Stamford corn exchange even boasts the use of private gardens opposite – belonging to a neighbouring property. Ideal for those group photographs you may want (and for a romantic moment together too!)
The corn exchange can host your wedding breakfast and evening function also. Able to cater up to 200 guests as a buffet style, or 150 for a sit down meal you can stay there all day!
To find this beautiful building, head along Broad Street in Stamford and park near Brown’s Hospital. You will find the corn exchange nestled snugly on the opposite side of the road. Don’t be deceived – this building is somewhat of a tardis!
