The main house has 35 major rooms, with more than 80 lesser rooms too. Built and designed (mostly) by William Cecil between 1555 and 1587, Burghley House has a roof that extends to three quarters of an acre! Burghley House is one of the largest and grandest houses of its era, making Burghley House perfect for wedding photography.
For weddings at Burghley House, a number of different rooms are available, each with a different style and able to cater for a different number of guests. The popular great hall and orangery are perfect for a wedding ceremony and/or wedding breakfast too. Burghley House can even be yours exclusively and you can even choose one of its three licensed rooms to get married in. Perfect if you don’t want to leave!
You can even have a tour of this magnificent house on your wedding day! Ideal to keep guests ‘entertained’ whilst a few romantic wedding photographs are captured in the acres of garden.
It is easy to lose yourselves in the large gardens! Burghley has a ‘garden of surprises’ along with a sculpture garden and rose garden. It is also home to a large deer park and the original south garden. A wedding photographers dream!
