Wedding Photography in Rutland
We’re proud to be Rutland wedding photographers and hope that our knowledge of the area can help you to choose the perfect wedding venue for your special day! We have always wondered how a county of just 18 miles can have so much going on! It really is just 18 miles from edge to edge, but full of towns, villages and hamlets! The only county not to have a fast food chain or a speed camera- however this is no excuse to go speeding to Melton for a cheeky McDonalds!
Rutland is full of busy little boutique shops and cafes to keep you happy, fed and watered! Rutland attractions include Oakham Castle (unfortunately without a moat or turrets!) and the infamous Rutland Water. Man Made in 1976, 2 villages were sacrificed to make this lake and it was well worth it! Rutland Water is now home to water sports, cycling, fishing, bird fairs and Weddings!
In Oakham you can follow the Heritage trail to take you around the county museum, farmer’s markets and the even the stocks…if you dare!
Uppingham, a slightly smaller market town, is full of rare art and galleries to browse. Admiring the charming and traditional buildings you could even pop to the weekly market for some locally sourced produce.
There are over 50 pretty little villages in the county of Rutland, each with their own church and many of the buildings made with limestone and collyweston slate roofs. One of these villages includes Cottesmore home to one of Britain’s oldest foxhound packs.
Oakham in Rutland is ever expanding with 1200 house being added as we speak and a fantastic new academy has been built to add alongside Oakham School and Uppingham School, 2 prestigious private schools.
