If you are planning for a Summer Wedding, like Laura and Ed did, then somewhere with a beautiful garden we feel is a must! Where better than the William Cecil, Stamford……. The gardens are beautiful, great for wedding photographs too!
A vintage afternoon tea was the theme for their wedding day. What a superb idea if you are looking for something relaxed and informal. Laura made ALL of the cakes for pudding herself, even the wedding cake! The cupcakes were super scrummy too (we might have tried one or two to find out :-). Laura had put a lot of effort in to the decorations too, and how superb the marquee looked also.
Once a year, the William Cecil holds a wedding fayre, which is where we met this super couple. Full of great ideas, we couldn’t wait to hear more about their wedding day. We were excited too about the vintage bus that they had borrowed to take their guests to and from Normanton Church for the wedding ceremony. Ideas were flowing for the wedding photography we could capture with this great green bus!
After a lovely ceremony on the edge of the water, the bus was loaded once again and off to the William Cecil Stamford we headed for a few group wedding photographs in the large gardens. Confetti was thrown and the drinks continued to be topped up before it was time for Afternoon Tea in the wedding marquee. After tea and three very funny and heartfelt speeches, we had a few moments to capture some great wedding photography around the William Cecil with the Bride and Groom. Not only did we use the gardens, but also the front of this great building for its lovely soft light at this time of evening, the wedding photographs are beautiful! We hope you all agree!
The evening reception was soon ready to begin, but not before a game or two of croquet on the lawn in the setting sun. Boys against Girls giant connect four seemed to bring out the competitive side in many also. A great way to spend a wedding evening.
The homemade cake was cut and Laura and Ed headed to the dance floor for their first dance on their wedding day. After just enough time for us to photograph the couple, others were invited to the floor to really get the party started.
We have put together this sneaky peak from Laura and Ed’s vintage wedding at The William Cecil Stamford for you all to see. If you want to see more from the William Cecil, Please follow here.
