Today was no ordinary Thursday… It was Louise and Richards wedding day! They had chosen one of the most beautiful churches for their ceremony, Oakham All Saints Church in the heart of Oakham, our hometown!
We popped up to Louise’s parents’ house in Barleythorpe and were greeted by excited conversation, giggles and luxury pampering! Louise’s mum has put together a feast for everyone, Rochelle O’Brien was on hand to pamper and spoilt the girls with their make-up and they all looked fab already! We made use of the fantastic conservatory in her parents’ house to capture some photographs of dresses, shoes and other sentimental pieces. Louise and the girls were just next door in the kitchen so we could still capture the excitement and natural photographs as they chatted away and enjoyed being pampered!
It was soon time for us to head off and meet the boys; we found a car parking space and made our way to The Wheatsheaf pub, just across the road from Oakham Church. Richard arrived in his shades looking cool and calm with his best man and groomsmen. After a quick drink (for them not us! and a few relaxed photographs we followed the guys to the church to greet their guests.
Louise arrived along with her dad and bridesmaids and she looked amazing, it was time for her to go and get married….Eeeeek! Excitement!
After a beautiful ceremony with amazing readings, it was out into the shining sun and chiming bells and a complete showering in confetti! Louise and Richard had put together a few group photographs that they wanted, so we arranged these outside the church whilst friends and family made their way to the reception to grab themselves a drink
Shortly after some wedding photographs of the bride and groom at Oakham Church, we to made our way up to The Finch’s Arms in Hambleton for their reception. Whilst guests enjoyed Pimms on the terrace, we popped in to photograph their reception room. They had hand carved place names as favours, a fantastic wedding bike cake stand along with a British red post box, it looked AMAZING! The bride and groom had really added the personal touches to their wedding at The Finch’s.
It was soon time to eat and the chefs had prepared a scrumptious 3-course meal for everyone and this was shortly followed by 3 awesome speeches!
Hambleton forms part of the peninsular of Rutland Water, known as the arm and you can get right down to the water’s edge just a short walk /drive from the Finch’s. We all made our way down there for some photographs of just the two of them. We had timed it perfectly. The sun was setting, creating a stunning orange and red glow from the sky, and the water was so low that it had made perfect little islands for us to create some gorgeous reflections.
They cut their wedding cake, on the bike, and made their way onto the dance floor for their first dance. Introduced by their wedding band, they were off- it wasn’t long before everyone had joined them on the dancefloor ready to dance the night away!
