Spring has sprung at Normanton Church

April 29, 2015 |

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to get married at Normanton Church followed with a reception at Greetham Valley Golf club then this is the adventure for you!

We met this lovely couple at The Greetham Valley Wedding Fayre and they couldn’t wait to tell us about the plans for their most perfect day. We were so excited when they asked us to photograph it!

Time flew by and after a fab engagement shoot with their cheeky boy, Tobias, their day had arrived. We were up early to start our journey at Jo’s family home in Market Deeping.

We arrived to a house full of excited voices, friendly welcomes and the offer of breakfast- wow! Whilst the bride and her bridesmaids were pampered downstairs by the hair and make-up artists, we went upstairs to photograph the dresses, shoes and jewellery. Our next stop was a few roads down to Jo’s grandmothers house as she was making all of the bouquets. This is a really personal touch and you could tell she had been working very hard as the flowers looked stunning!

We had arranged to meet Dan and his guests at Normanton Church for some photographs with the Groom, Groomsmen and Tobias. Before we knew it, it was 2pm and the bride was ready to walk down the aisle.

As Normanton Church is actually only the top half of this historic building, there is only one door in and out of the Church. With this in mind, to have their guests facing the ‘Bell’, the bride had decided to hide at the back (in the secret room!) with her father and bridesmaids so she could have the full walk down the aisle. The Oakham Registrars held a beautiful ceremony, and with a special reading from Jo’s mum, it made this ceremony very personal.

When we left the church it did feel a little chilly, but the sun was out as we photographed happily – creating beautiful wedding photographs at Normanton Church. We started with a few group photographs and finished off with some of our happy couple together. We LOVE photographing weddings at Normanton Church and finding new places and angles to use. It really is so pretty and we got some great photographs with Joanne and Dan.

We were soon back at Greetham. The bride and groom were welcomed with a glass of fizz and a red carpet entrance- what more could you want?!

We got everyone together for a confetti photograph on the balcony at Greetham before it was time for speeches and carvery :-)

3 FAB speeches followed by Greetham’s famous delicious carvery and then it was time to grab a golf buggy and head out onto the course – not for golf though – we are dreadful at that!

The course early evening is stunning. Much quieter than throughout the day – We can always find something new and exciting at Greetham.  We had a buggy each – theirs was chauffeur driven by the wonderful Dave  and we made full use of the fountains, 18th hole and low sunlight for some romantic wedding photographs at Greetham.

Well what an amazing day, the problem is that it always flies by so quickly. It was soon time for their first dance as James at JH Roadshow provided a spectacular disco complete with a surprise confetti cannon! The perfect end to an awesome day.

Congratulations guys and thank you for inviting us to be a part of it!

Making new friends is our 'thing'...
