Sophie and Jason’s All Weather Wedding on The Rutland Belle

September 10, 2015 |

By all weather we mean ALL weather… rain, sun, wind you name it! However the weather did not dampen the spirits for these guys for their wedding day on The Rutland Belle, Sophie was her usual happy and smiley self when we met her in the morning.

They had booked the beautiful Mill Cottage at Greetham Valley for her and the girls to use to get ready in the morning. There were hair dryers, make up brushes and matching pyjamas everywhere! It was organized chaos and we LOVED it! It is always awesome to capture the excitement and buzz of the morning and that’s exactly what we did! Sophie beautiful red dress with her bridesmaids white dresses looked awesome hanging in the room ready to be photographed.

We left the girls to it and found he boys, where else but in the bar! After a quick chat we arranged to meet them at their next location…… Oooooh where were they going!

They had only gone and booked THE coolest mode of transport for = their guests…. The Rutland Belle. Sailing across the water in style to the idyllically set Normanton Church is pure luxury! Guests were excitingly waiting to board the boat as we arrived. We got some photographs of the groom with his best men and ushers just before setting sail. Jason was soooo excited- he was really looking forward to seeing Sophie!

Phew- it’s a good job we weren’t any early, as the boat pulled into the shore, the bride had only JUST got into the church to hide….that was either close, or perfectly time- we would go with the latter!

It was drizzling so guests made their way straight into the candle lit church to take their seats. The music started and the bride’s sister in law started to sing as the bridal party proceeded down the aisle. She had the most amazing voice and it set a beautiful atmosphere in the church. Sophie looked amazing as she walked down with her very proud father… so amazing that the groom burst into the tears! This was shortly followed by EVERYONE in the church crying too, it was such a special moment and we were so pleased to be a part of it.

It was raining after their wedding ceremony at Normanton Church, so we used the inside of the church for some group photographs. The dome of the church shows the most beautiful architecture and it is always lovely to use this for wedding photographs on a rainy day at Normanton Church. Sophie and Jason were more than happy to grab a brolly and head to the sheltered area outside Normanton Church- so we followed them and got some great photographs of just the two of them before they made their way back onto The Rutland Belle to Whitwell.

A fab VW campervan was ready and waiting on the shores of Whitwell to take the bride and groom to Greetham Valley for their wedding reception. They were greeted with bubbly and a smile from Jess at Greetham and we all made our way into the room. The decorations and personal touches that Sophie and Jason had planned for years looked amazing and the room was a real treat to take photographs of.

After their speeches and meal we popped out with the bride and groom on the golf buggy’s before it went completely dark! It was lovely for the bride and groom to spend a few moments together for some wedding photographs at Greetham Valley.

Wow- what a day, they took to the dancefloor as husband and wife ready to dance the night away complete with an awesome confetti canon! Congratulations guys- thanks for an ace day!
