Sarah and Ben are such a sweet couple and we loved their hand-made theme to the wedding. Sarah’s mum was making all of the button holes, wedding favours and even the bride’s bouquet- what a clever lady!
We first met Sarah and Ben at a Wedding Fayre at Rutland Water back in 2013- we instantly hit it off and were so pleased when they booked for their wedding photography. Since meeting them in 2013 and seeing them again at the start of this year they had a beautiful little girl called Holly who was going to be a big part of the wedding party.
We met Sarah at their reception venue, Barnsdale Hall Hotel on the morning of the wedding. She was with her mum, dad, sister, niece and daughter excitingly getting ready! We were super excited to be working with the wonderful Videographer, John Corcoran from A Beautiful Day Productions, he is fantastically fun to work with and his films are awesome!
We left Sarah and her family to finish getting ready whilst we made our way to the next exciting venue. They had booked The Rutland Belle for their wedding, this was to transport all of the guests from the shores of Whitwell to Normanton Church and back again after the ceremony. We LOVE this idea, talk about travelling to Normanton Church in style! Matt and his team from the Rutland Belle were on hand to greet guests on board. After a few photographs with the groom and his best man, we all boarded the boat and off we went!
Sarah had arrived at the church early and was waiting in the back whilst friends and family took their seats. If you have never been to Normanton Church before you may find that last statement a little strange. However, there is only one door to enter and exit the church, with this in mind if you want your ceremony in the dome of the church and the walk down the aisle this is the only way! It worked perfectly and Sarah (and Holly) looked amazing as they walked down the aisle.
After a beautiful ceremony by the Oakham Registrars, we made our way into the glorious weather for a few group photographs. Whilst guests boarded the boat, we spent a few moments with the bride and groom taking some wedding photographs at Normanton Church. It is so beautiful and picturesque here we are spoilt for choice!
The Rutland Belle then took everyone on a half an hour wedding cruise around Rutland Water whilst guests enjoyed a drink and congratulating the bride and groom. From the shores of Whitwell, we all made our way back to Barnsdale for, what we knew was going to be, a fabulous wedding breakfast and speeches!
Sarah and Ben really spoilt us today by putting us on a table as part of the wedding breakfast; this was so thoughtful and the food was amazing- thank you guys
We LOVE photographing weddings at Barnsdale Hall Hotel; there are so many picturesque places to take photographs. We took a short walk around the grounds with the bride and groom in the evening for some romantic and relaxed wedding photographs.
A fab day was complete with a fab disco and first dance- shortly after we left them to dance the night away. Thank you guys for such a lovely day- we can’t wait to see you soon! Congratulations!
