Rachel and Ben’s Wedding at Nettle Hill

September 16, 2015 |

Eeeek spoilt alert! A fab new venue to explore- we couldn’t wait!

Whenever we photograph at a new wedding venue, we always take the time to visit a couple of weeks before the day. It’s nice to familiarise ourselves with the space and outdoors and also meet the staff in advance. The day we went to look around Nettle Hill it was throwing it down with rain- we got soaked! Ah well- it got it all out of the way so the sun could shine on Rachel and Ben’s wedding at Nettle Hill… and it did!

Rachel was getting ready with her bridesmaids at the hotel up the road, Ansty Hall. Mums, bridesmaids and friends were all with Rachel doing their hair and makeup (along with drinking a little fizz) ready for the big day ahead. After some photographs, we left them all to their finishing touches whilst we went on to find the boys at Nettle Hill. Ben was…EARLY! Wow. He had arrived in a personalised number plated Aston Martin…. very smooth. They all looked fab and we captured some photographs as they greeted friends and family into the ceremony.

The bridesmaids arrived, shortly followed by the bride and her dad, she looked amazing and it was soon time for them to head into the conservatory at Nettle Hill for their wedding ceremony. After a few tears- from most of the bridesmaids- they were husband and wife and invited guest to join them on the super cool cobbled paved courtyard for a glass of bubbly.  The courtyard at Nettle Hill looked amazing, beautiful old red brick and retro paper lanterns along with the old lamps and benches it all worked perfectly together. This, we felt, was a perfect backdrop for a few informal group photographs.

3 fab speeches and a beautiful 3-course meal followed in the reception room at Nettle Hill. This marquee lined hall looked amazing along with all of the rustic wood, candles and herbs that Rachel and Ben had organised.

After their meal, Rachel, Ben and all of their friends made their way out onto the decking area for….Cigars! After half a cigar or so we popped out for a whistle-stop tour around Nettle Hill with the bride and groom. There are so many beautiful spots for Wedding Photographs at Nettle Hill- we had to know when to stop as we could have spent days there!

When we got back the conservatory had been transformed into the height of activity for their evening reception. Light up LOVE letters, a roulette table, blackjack table and a photo booth there was lots to keep guests entertained along with the disco in the main room! We left them all in full party swing and said our goodbyes.

Congratulations guys!
