Planning a small wedding at Exton Church, Rutland

October 01, 2014 |

Finding the right church in Rutland was top of the list for Claire and Neil for their wedding day and they certainly found a gem!

We found Claire cooking bacon sandwiches at her home in Oakham on the morning of her wedding! Claire was keeping herself busy whilst bridesmaids pampered and planned for the day ahead! After a few photographs of shoes, dresses, jewellery and preparations, we left the girls and found in the boys in The Fox and Hounds in Exton.

A quick bite to eat and a ‘coke’ and they were ready to go! Exton Church is set back from the village with its own rustic road; it is a hidden gem of Rutland! Claire and Neil had arranged for the church to be dressed from head to foot in flowers to follow the rustic and vintage theme of Exton Village.

Claire arrived in her classic car with a beaming smile… she couldn’t wait to see Neil and not to mention their daughter Grace.

Confetti followed the church service along with some relaxed group photographs at Exton Church. Claire and Neil had asked if it would be possible to stop at Rutland Water for a few more photographs, what a lovely idea… a chance for them to have a moment together also.

Shortly after, with a glass of bubbly on hand, the bride and groom were welcomed into the Queens Head at Nassington for their intimate wedding reception. After some photographs and drinks by the River Nene, their 3 course meal and speeches followed with tears, laughter and lots of cheers!

The night drew in and we snuck the bride and groom out, along with our creative lighting for some night time wedding photography outside The Queen’s Head in Nassington- perfect!

They finished their day with a 4 piece soul band, this is Soul, and they definitely got the guests on the dance floor!

Visiting this church is certainly a treat…click here to see more wedding photography at Exton Church!
