Normanton Church- A fab wedding venue even at dusk!

April 04, 2015 |

Okay we lied, it wasn’t dusk when they went in, but it was when they came out… The sun was just setting across the water……don’t worry –  we will tell you more later!

We first met Jen and Dan at The Normanton Park Wedding Fayre and instantly hit it off! It wasn’t long before we were booked for their wedding, the engagement shoot was upon us and we were on our way to Normanton Park for their wedding day!

Danny, the groom, is a very keen photographer and really loved our style of lighting, so no pressure then :).

We started the day with Jen getting ready with her gorgeous girlies. They had made 2 beautiful handkerchiefs with personlised inscriptions ready for the girls on their wedding day in years to come! We though this was an awesome idea, really sweet!

After photographing the brides preparations and wedding dress we were off to photograph the groom as the bride left for the church to hide.

The groom looked very dapper in his blue suit and new brown shoes, Danny spent weeks wearing them in ready for their wedding day! As the ceremony drew closer we took full advantage of the time with some fab shots of Danny and his groomsmen on the way to Normanton Church.

Jen looked stunning as she approached Danny down the aisle and a lovely ceremony followed, led by David from Oakham Registrars.

After, we headed out into the sunshine where a few very quick group photographs followed as it was starting to get a little nippy! The bride and groom braved the cold for some shots as the sun started to set and wow -it was definitely worth it! When the sun is setting it makes wedding photography at Normanton church even more of a pleasure. The NEW boat at Normanton Church hadn’t been filled with soil yet and so we thought we couldn’t miss that as an opportunity! We hope you agree :).

A wedding reception at Normanton Park Hotel followed, with some short, relaxed speeches and fantastic food! Jen and Danny had personlised their wedding room with Seasonal Daffodils, Easter Bonnets for the children and a Remembrance table showing wedding photographs from their family tree.

We snuck out after their meal for a few moments with the Bride and Groom. Normanton Park Hotel lights up at night and makes a backdrop for some romantic wedding photography– which finishes the day off perfectly.

After the first dance it was time for us to leave them all to dance the night away.

A gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple- we look forward to seeing you soon guys!
