Ooooh it was Mary Jo and Tom’s wedding day- we couldn’t believe that it was here already!
It seems like only a few months ago when we first met this lovely couple at our studio in Oakham. Mary Jo and Tom have been together for 8 years now and had chosen to host their wedding in The Stamford School Chapel where they both went to school! This was a cute idea and they finished the day off with a Marquee in the village of Belmesthorpe. Mary Jo grew up in this village and you could almost see the marquee from their windows! It was lovely that these two places have such sentimental value to the couple and we knew that it was going to be a lovely day.
We arrived at Mary Jo’s parents’ house nice and early on Saturday morning along with Shane, the videographer from Z-ten productions. Knock knock on the door and we were greeted by the bridesmaids as they were all in fab white branded dressing gowns!
Mary Jo was a little nervous- but nothing that a glass of champagne couldn’t sort out
After photographing the beautiful dresses, shoes and flowers we took some photographs of the girls finishing off their hair and make-up. They were very organized and nearly ready to go! It was then time for us to leave the girls and find the boys who were enjoying a drink (or two) in The Toby Norris of Stamford.
Tom is a fighter pilot in the RAF, so he and some of his groomsmen were in full uniform. They all looked great and we captured some relaxed photographs of them attaching their swords to their uniform before heading, just a short walk away, to the chapel.
Guests had already started to arrive and the Ushers did a fab job and seeing everyone to their seats as the bridal party arrived.
WOW- Mary Jo looked absolutely beautiful and was extremely excited to see Tom. She walked down the aisle of this amazing chapel and after some hymns and great readings they were husband and wife!
It was such a glorious, sunny day and we used the stunning grounds of Stamford Chapel as a backdrop for their wedding group photographs. They had quite a large bridal party, with 6 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen; however there was lots of space at the chapel which meant we were able to get some relaxed photographs of them all together.
We think that the bride’s veil is the longest we have ever seen- it made for beautiful wedding photographs at Stamford chapel before heading over to Belmesthorpe.
Greeted with confetti, drinks and a string quartet, the bride and groom arrived in Belmesthorpe and enjoyed their drinks reception on the lawn outside. We made our way inside to see the beautiful decorations that they had put to the marquee. Huge flower displays hanging from the roof, chandeliers and little personal touches dressed the marquee beautifully. They had all done such a marvellous job!
The Groom, along with his RAF colleagues, popped off for 5 minutes to change into the dinner uniforms and it was then speech time! Tom gave the most romantic and heartfelt speech, it really did bring a tear to a lot of eyes.
As the sun was beginning to go down over Ryhall in the distance, we popped out with the bride and groom for some evening photographs. Rolling countryside views and wild meadows made for the most perfect wedding photographs, they looked great together and enjoyed a moment just the two of them to reflect on the day that had passed so quickly!
What a perfect ending to a perfect day, Mary Jo and Tom took to the dance floor for a super first dance and were joined shortly after by friends and family. It was time for us to leave them to dance the night away as we are sure they would!
Thank you guys for such an amazing day and congratulations!
