This gorgeous couple are just as much at home in the water as they are out of it- so their choice of a wedding at Rutland Water was just PERFECT for them….we couldn’t wait!
We were keeping a close eye on the harsh weather reports and warning, however, did they let it get them down… NO WAY! We met Josie in the morning and she was her normal happy and smiley self. Busy getting pampered in the new salon, Glow, at Barnsdale Lodge she was very excited! After a few relaxed photographs with Josie, we left her to the ultimate finishing touches whilst we went to find the guys.
Josie and Pete had arranged for the fabulous Rutland Belle to transport guests from Whitwell to Normanton and back again. The brollies were up and guests embraced the rain with the ‘oh well it’s only water’ attitude- which we LOVED! Fear not though….. the rain cleared away and Rutland Water gave us a break in the weather to get some photographs of the groom and his groomsmen on the boat and shores of Rutland Water.
The bride had arrived and was hiding in the back of Normanton Church, ready to walk and wow her guests. She did just that! The bride looked amazing and their ceremony was beautifully led with Pete’s sister’s reading and playing the flute. This was a really personal touch and definitely enjoyed by all!
Now as a special request, we had a real treat! As Pete loves the water and sailing, he wanted to have a photograph of all the guests spread across the whole of the perimeter of the church! For this we needed….a boat! Andy climbed aboard the rub and set sail on his mission. It was great fun and definitely something different- easy for me to say- I stayed safely on shore and let Andy go aboard!
Before everyone made their way onto the Rutland Belle, we had time and a break in the weather for a few group photographs and some with just the bride and groom. Normanton Church, come rain or shine, the perfect venue for any wedding photographer so it’s always a treat for us!
After a short cruise on The Belle, guests made their own way to Barnsdale Lodge for a fab reception. Barnsdale were ready and waiting with Pimms in the courtyard. We LOVE capturing those relaxed and natural photographs and this is a perfect time to do this. Guest chat about the day, laugh about old times and enjoy a drink whilst we blend into the background and snap away!
Barnsdale Lodge is perfect for rainy day weddings, so when it did begin to spit we were able to use the large area of the Barn Suite to finish of Josie and Pete’s group photographs. There is lots of space, which means we can still be creative and have fun with the group photographs!
It was soon time for them to enjoy a beautiful meal and 3 fabulous speeches. The Barn Suite was dressed beautifully by Josie and Pete, with a sailing boat theme and the beautiful teal/mint green that they used, it really did look stunning!
The rain had disappeared, so we popped out with the bride and groom for some wedding photography at Barnsdale Lodge using their wild meadow and gorgeous flower filled courtyard.
Steve Allen was all set up with this disco and it was time for their first dance. The bride and groom are both extremely good dancers, and regularly enjoy Salsa dancing in their spare time; we knew this was going to be awesome. It was- they flowed magically across the dancefloor with twists, turns, lifts and dips- it was amazing to watch!
Congratulations guys- we can’t wait to see you soon!
