Our weekend began on Friday when we travelled down to Colchester ready for Frankie and Darian’s wedding on Saturday. We arrived at The East Anglian Railway Museum to be greeted by lots of very happy people!
Frankie and Darian are the sweetest couple and we were so chuffed when they chose us to photograph their wedding this April.
After a good nights sleep, we arrived bright and early to meet the bride and her girlies excitingly getting ready in the hotel room. After some photographs of their preparations and the bride trying to feed Andy lots of prosecco- we left them to their final touches to go and find the boys.
We had arranged to meet the groom and his groomsmen at their ceremony venue, Colchester Town Hall. This has to be one of the most beautiful town halls in England- we have only been here once before but we were so thrilled to be able to come back for more photographs!
The groom arrived looks extremely smart with his boys and after a few snaps and a dramatic ‘bromance’ proposal the boys went inside to finish their duties.
Guests arrived by coach and the bridal party arrived by vintage bus- so cool! Frankie looked stunning as she smiled her way down the aisle for a beautiful ceremony and fantastic readings.
The inside of the town hall is beautiful and we took some photographs of the newlyweds inside whilst friends and family congregated at the front doors.
Booooooom- they were showered with confetti as Mr and Mrs Hayden-Sims made their way out of the town hall- what an awesome confetti line up!
The Coaches arrived to collect everyone…. However no one had any idea where they were going next…shhhhhhhhhhh!
Ta dah- we all arrived at the East Anglian Railway Museum, which is the most amazing wedding venue….EVER! A working platform with real trains, old carriages, signs, signal boxes and much much more- AMAZINGGGG!
Drinks were flowing whilst we took some group photographs with friends and family before dinner and totally awesome speeches!
The bride and groom are crazy about cocktails, so they had arranged for a cocktail hour after dinner. Homemade cocktails- containing SOOOO much alcohol were being served in jars….. However, we noticed that nobody seemed to be using the soda water provided to dilute their cocktails….Uh oh!
We snuck off with the bride and groom to explore some more of this amazing venue. These guys are totally awesome and we had such a giggle with them!
It was nearly first dance time; however just before this the most beautiful rainbow was visible in the sky…. A complete rainbow too which, we think, we have never seen before. There was NO WAY we could miss this opportunity- The bride and groom ran out with us and we got it just in time- what a beautiful end to the most beautiful day.
Frankie and Darian… you guys are totally awesome- we LOVED being a part of your wedding day and thank you for asking us and making us feel so welcome! Congratulations you totally crazy and amazingly happy couple!
