An Autumn Wedding at Fort Henry

November 11, 2015 |

Red, orange, yellow and brown…… all beautiful autumn colours that we couldn’t wait to use as a backdrop for Jenna and James’ Wedding at Fort Henry.

We arrived at Barnsdale Lodge to see Jenna and her bridesmaid’s very excitingly getting ready in the Rutland Suite after having their hair put up by Glow the salon next door! After capturing the details and excitement, we left the girls to it and made our way to meet the boys at Fort Henry.

If you haven’t been to, or heard of Fort Henry before you are missing a treat! When you arrive, you drive down a beautiful woodland filled drive, through the country estate of Exton Park and finally reach it. Fort Henry is set on a lake in a beautiful woodland- hidden away from traffic, people and noise… it is so peaceful! It looked even more stunning than we could have imagined with the autumn colours and pumpkin-themed decorations.

James arrived in his uniform looking very dapper! He was cool and calm greeting his guests as they arrived down the woodland tracks. They had also arranged for a Scottish Piper to play whilst guest arrived!

It was a later wedding today which meant that the light was low and very little as Jenna arrived in the AMAZING Mustang wedding car- talk about arriving in style- a Mustang, Scottish Piper and Lance Guard entrance- WOW!!

Jenna looked positively stunning in her unique dress designed by her and a fur coat- she couldn’t wait to get married!

The ceremony was led by the super registrars and made complete with two readings; before we knew it the Lance guards had lined the doorway ready for their big exit as Mr and Mrs! It was almost 5 pm so we got straight on with their group photographs before losing the light completely. We spent 10 minutes or so with the bride and groom for some wedding photographs around Fort Henry…then it went dark!

Barnsdale Hall Hotel was ready and waiting to greet the bride and groom with a drink and congratulate them. The Edith Western suite looked amazing, dressed in red and green and with a rugby theme to the table names it’s definitely had that all important personal touch.

3 fab speeches followed and an awesome 3-course meal before we popped out with the bride and groom armed with sparklers to get some evening photographs at Barnsdale Hall Hotel.

What a totally awesome day- we left them all ready to dig into the hog roast and dance the night away- congratulations guys!

Fallen in LOVE with Fort Henry...? Us too!
