It had been a long time in the planning, but Di and Jon’s wedding day had arrived!
They had chosen the beautiful Barnsdale Lodge Hotel for their wedding ceremony and reception- a great wedding venue.
We started our day at The Hair Band salon in Grantham. This is where Di and her bridesmaids work so they had the whole salon to themselves and were busy drinking prosecco and pampering themselves. Our next stop was Di and Jon’s house a mile or so down the road where she had left her dresses, shoes and jewellery out for us to photograph. When we arrived, we were greeted by their two gorgeous cats and couldn’t resist giving them some fuss!
As we were leaving Nick Groves, the videographer extraordinaire was just arriving. After a quick chin-wag with Nick, we made our way to Barnsdale Lodge to meet the boys.
The barn suite was full of lots of people adding the final touches to the decorations, and it looked amazing already. Beautiful fairy lights and colourful lanterns lined the ceiling, and the tables were dressed with jars of flowers, candles and lots of personal touches.
Jon, the groom, was just popping his tie and cufflinks on, and we took some photographs of him, and his groomsmen while guests started to arrive and congregate in the courtyard. The bride and her bridesmaids arrived in a classic car, and wow, the bride looked gorgeous as she smiled her way down the aisle with Jon’s daughter who was giving her away- so cute!
After a beautiful ceremony, we all enjoyed fantastic music by the very talented Steve Bean, and guests enjoyed a drink and canapes in the courtyard while the bride and groom were whisked away for a short drive in their snazzy wedding car.
When they returned, we used the lawn for some group photographs with family and friends. The bride and groom had laid out bales of hay dressed in sacks and bunting for guest to sit on and enjoy a drink. These were perfect for group photographs too!
After a delicious meal guests enjoyed three excellent speeches with lots of pictures of the bride and groom from years past, they all did a great job!
We popped out into the wild meadows, gardens and courtyard with the bride and groom for some wedding photographs with just to two of them before it was time for them all to dance the night away with a fab band. The bride and groom started off the dancing while the bridesmaids showered them in confetti.
Congratulations guys and thanks for an awesome day!
