Today it was Helen and Jimmy’s wedding day and despite the rain we knew that today was going to be gorgeous! This cute couple live in the lovely little village of Exton and had chosen Exton Church for their wedding ceremony and onto Exton Village Hall for their reception.
It was raining, however when we arrived at Helen’s house in the morning she certainly hadn’t let it dampen her morning. Back from the hairdresser and ready to put her make up on, we had a tour around the house and spent some time with the girls as they put together their preparations for the day. Helen’s dress was beautiful and well her shoes were……. AMAZING! It took all my (Laura’s) strength not to try them on 😉 The bridesmaids wore a 2 piece outfit, patterned skirts along with cardigans- this looked fab and had a 60’s feel to it! We left the girls to their final details and went to find the boys in the village pub, The Fox and Hounds in Exton.
Jimmy was cool and calm; he looked really smart and was enjoying a quiet pint with friends and family before heading up to the church to greet his guests. Brollies on hand- we photographed guests arriving before eagerly waiting for Helen. Helen was arriving in a car that her dad and brother have been restoring for years and years! This great Mini arrived and was driven by Helen’s dad; Helen looked gorgeous and got out very elegantly including dodging the roll cage (she’d done that before!).
After a wonderful ceremony, the bride and groom stayed inside whilst friends and family shared their congratulations with them both. Unfortunately, it was still too wet to take anyone outside for photographs. However never fear- we are here! We donned on our off camera flash and set up inside the church for their group photographs. After this small list of photographs, we stayed with the bride and groom for some photographs inside Exton Church and we even snuck a few outside too! It was raining a little still, however, we had an extra umbrella on hand for the bride and groom and even a blanket for the brides dress so it didn’t get drenched!
We arrived at the village hall and it looked amazing! The bride and groom had worked so hard on all the little personal touches that make it all so special. From chickens to bunting; pompoms to homegrown vegetables- it all looked amazing!
After a fantastic meal by the caterers, we popped out with the bride and groom for a few photographs with some sparklers- a great idea for winter weddings!
